The power of words is something which struck me hard when I was in school and stayed with me throughout the rest of my life. The way words can be chosen and arranged to rise to meet any given situation; to quell or provoke, to praise or denounce, to excite or repulse, to change people's minds or give people a voice, to give reason and meaning to the chaos we live in or just as a means of personal human expression, is something which appeals to my fundamental nature and something which I feel and understand innately like nothing else I've experienced. Writing has given us the only real immortality we are likely to obtain, and great writers collectively represent the tangible part of our existence. A writer is who I truly am, writing is the only vehicle for my best skills and therefore the only profession I want to have.
